How do I turn a photo into a Slack emoji?
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image, then crop and position it in the square editor. Remove the background if you like, choose an animation, and download your emoji. Every effect works with both your own images and the starter presets.
How do I add these emojis to Slack?
On desktop, open the emoji picker in Slack and select Add Emoji, then Upload Image. Choose a downloaded PNG or GIF, give it a name, and save. If you downloaded a pack, unzip it first and upload the images individually. Your workspace may limit who can add custom emojis.
What size are the downloaded emojis?
The creator starts at 128 × 128 pixels and keeps each file below 128 KB. Animated GIFs use at most 50 frames. For a complex image, it may reduce colors, frame count, or dimensions to keep the download small enough for Slack.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Cropping, background removal, and animation happen in your browser. The background remover downloads its processing files the first time you use it, but your image stays on your device. Refreshing the page clears your uploaded image.
Can it cut out just my head?
Background removal isolates the main subject. For a head-only emoji, zoom in and drag the image to frame your face. It works best with a clear subject and a contrasting background; detailed hair and busy scenes may need a closer crop.
